UPDATE – July 14
Piers 6,7,8,9 where all damaged by the storm last night. Pier 9 was the first to be pulled out of the mess and seems to be fine. They will set that and move on. IT appears the floods and storms have taken there toll on 6,7,8 and they will have to be pulled out and new ones made. Those boaters who have lifts on them will be contacted when they get to pulling them out. The people on those piers will be shuffled on a lottery basis any open slips. The rest I am sorry to say will be tailoring there boats for the rest of the year. Our insurance is pending for replacing 6,7,8, and we are looking at all avenues to put Sandpiper Cove Marina back together . ANy thoughts or ideas are welcome as long as they are positive and productive. Any comments in the negative are not going to help any of the staff or myself , we didn’t cause this mess and we have spent a lot of time and money trying to make it right just to have mother nature come at us again. I want thank all the volunteers that have helped all summer and who continue to help. I will update when gas dock is working.
Update- No word from our insurance company yet, but I did get a letter from Congressman Lee Terry and we have his support and is going to reach out to the Governor and see what kinda state or federal aid we can get. This letter was mailed before last nights storm. I have heard a few comments about that fact that the gas dock is on our agenda. Rememer folks there are 250 plus of you and we cant make you all happy and there are a great deal who have expressed the need to the gas dock to be open. We are doing the best we can and are awaiting some news from our insurance company on how to move forward, I am very happy that Congressman Terry has reached out to us and offered his help. Stay tuned…
