UPDATE – July 14

Well last nights storm didnt help our cause on bit. That high wind has taken the majority of canopies and left them in ruins. The canopies were nothing but sails last night for piers 5,6,7,8,9. Five is still in place but bent in a snake like figure. The other four will have to be slowly taken apart starting with the canopies then the lifts just to see if they are salvagable. This year has not been the kindest to put it softly but the guys were already putting things back in order until the lighting picked up last night. I wish I had better news. The guys will clear the mouth and move those 4 piers out of the way so boats can be trailered this weekend. The gas dock is also on the agenda to have working for the weekend, no promises though cause we still dont know the extent of the damage. All we can do is move forward.

Although the weather and elements have been very harsh and frustrating for us all this year, my family appreciates the hard work and dedication you have put in the past couple of months. Just when you were making progress, rain and wind have consistently caused setbacks to occur. My husband and I have been down there several times during the daytime each week and have witnessed the guys out there working diligently to get these piers back in working, functional order. For this hard, difficult and tiring work, we are extremely grateful. I can only hope the weather cooperates and is peaceful for the remainder of the season as, I’m sure, many of us would love to get back in our slips. And believe me; we really want to get back out there, especially my 5 year old son.

As a small token of our appreciation, I will be bringing “the boys” a sweet treat this Saturday to enjoy. Thank you for all your sweat and hard work in getting this marina back up and in working order! Here’s wishing for some great weather to come (please)! Cheers!

Again, thank you and we appreciate the status updates as well as your hard work and determination!
